My Son's Room

He's baaaaack!

OK, so he's been in a play. Not just any play, Hamlet. He was Hamlet. OK, so he's studying for AP exams. OK, so he graduates in 6 weeks. He's under a bit of pressure. He has less than 24 hours to decide where to attend college. These are busy times.

But really, is all that an excuse for this?

Carpet still showing

View from doorway, Thursday, April 21

The room has been in static state for several weeks, since Geoffrey has hardly been here. But people have been asking, so here you go. It doesn't show well from the photo, but there is an electric guitar in the laundry basket. Should I throw it in with the next load?

Next week should be interesting - he's in a play and studying for AP tests. We'll see if by Friday we can still see some of that carpet.

This is getting boring

The somnolent one is too busy sleeping to seriously mess up his room this week, I guess. If you can just stick with me until school starts back up (one more week of spring break) I guarantee another spectacular display of teenage squalor.

Somethin's happenin' here

What it is ain't exactly clear...

View from doorway, Wednesday morning

It's noon, and the horizontal one has already been up for several hours, and has even bathed. I can still see the floor. Yesterday the room had changed so little it wasn't even worth posting. Should I be happy, or scared?

I can see the floor!

Brace yourself - his slothfulness woke up at 7 AM this morning to clean his room. The result, for your viewing pleasure:

Yes, he has a carpet, and real bedding.

There are even clear surfaces!

How did this miracle occur, after years of wheedling, yelling, and threats of bodily harm? I took the car keys away.

Tune in tomorrow to see if this phenomenon is maintainable.

Welcome to My Son's Room

I have an 18 year old son. This is his room. I am tired of asking, demanding, yelling, bribing, and threatening. Public humiliation is my new strategy. I'll be posting daily photos of his room, along with occasional rants about parenting a teenager who lives like an animal.

Leave me your horrified comments. Advice and rants about your own teenagers also welcome.
